Description: Mupirocin Ointment IP 10g is a topical antibiotic ointment used for treating bacterial skin infections including impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis, and other secondary bacterial skin infections. Mupirocin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis — effectively killing or stopping the growth of bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus, streptococci, and certain Gram‑negative bacteria), helping infected skin heal faster. It is intended for external application only (on intact skin), and should not be used on open wounds, burns, or in the eyes/nose/mouth.
